I can finally start re-building my green collection, and I wondered if anyone else likes having plants around too.

I especially like succulents and cacti, but am currently also trying to grow pansies from seeds.

Anyone?

I love lavender plants, they smell nice, they keep insects like mosquitos away, and the bees simply seem to adore them.

You have a garden? I think you mentioned somewhere you do, and I envied you... (fits the memory thread, doesn't it? biggrin.gif)

I have to stick to cat-safe plants plus succulents, because Marigold is a greens eater, but succulents apparently aren't real plants in her book (no leaves), so she mostly leaves them alone (unless they have leaves).

Still in a jar, because I haven't bought a vase for them yet.

At this time just a box of herbs (coriander, basil, thyme, lemongrass, garlic chives, tomatoes, pastley). I did have an ancient apple tree with apples on it, but for some reason this year it is not producing any. I think it's because the birds and possums (small marsupial thing, looks cute) keep getting to the unripened fruit. I need to invest in some netting for it.
I would like to plant more, hopefully a lemon tree and maybe an almond tree. But for now I am in a small ground unit with only a small yard, so maybe when I move again hopefully I will have room.

At my old place there was a peach tree, a persimmon tree, an apricot tree and a lemon tree and they all produced the most gorgeous, juicy fruit.

I wish I could grow a tomato, but their leaves are toxic to cats, so a no-go for my own tomatoes sad.gif

Fruit trees... mmmm... smile.gif

I have sweet basil in a pot. smile.gif

I have 128 bales of meadow hay from this season and about 30 from the last season. Timothy grass, ryegrass, pepper mint, fescue. My boy likes that. He likes carrots and apples, too. He adores oats and corn but he should not eat too much of them because it is bad for his health. Still waiting for the straw bales, the harvest is problematic this year due to the rains.

Oh I love people who have a green thumb. The photos are great. I don`t have it. I buried a plant again the last days. biggrin.gif When I had a garden or a balcony sometimes the plants survived my torture but now I only have some plants inside my room and they suffer in a state between death and life. xD I don`t know what I am doing wrong. sad.gif

It's OK, you're not the only one. I killed a cactus. Seriously.

Hahaha. Sounds like me. But it`s not that I care too less...maybe too much... I don`t know. Or too little sun in this home, maybe? The window is in the North, so no sun at all in my room.

It's very easy to do that. Not enough sun, and/or too much water can do it momentarily.

That's probably the reason. You need plants that like shade.
